About

General Information

Eastwood Middle School serves Washington Township families and prospective non-resident families in the northeast portion of Indianapolis. Situated between Binford Boulevard and Allisonville Road on 62nd street, our school serves students in grades six-eight and has a current enrollment of approximately 800 students. Our Eastwood staff is committed to providing quality instruction while being responsive to the individual needs of our students.

Academic & Extracurricular Program Offerings

Eastwood Middle School provides a wide variety of experiences for students during this critical period in their education to help them explore their interests and passions. In sixth grade, students meet with counselors throughout the year to learn about the courses offered to seventh and eighth-grade students. This guidance-based opportunity gives our youngest middle school students the information and tools needed to determine what subjects they would like to explore in-depth as they move through middle school.

In addition to the core classes, math, English, science, and social studies, our Eastwood students have expanded opportunities, including Project Lead the Way (a pre-engineering program focusing on a variety of areas related to engineering – robotics, design and modeling, and app creation), world languages (Spanish and French), music (band, choir, and orchestra), physical education/health, and art (two and three dimensional). Students can enroll in our AVID courses, which strive to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness.

We believe our Eastwood students are more connected to the school community when they are engaged in activities beyond the school day. As such, Eastwood offers a variety of clubs and sports for students to participate in after school hours. A free activity bus is available to all students staying after school for these activities.

As a traditional public school, Eastwood has an open enrollment policy and proudly provides high-quality education for all students. We welcome students at any time; however, we encourage families to take advantage of natural transition times to make it easier for the student. Registration information can be found on our district website.

Want to attend Eastwood, but live out of district?

Families can refer to the district map to check if their address is within Township boundaries to determine the enrollment eligibility of their students. Families living out of the district are free to apply for out-of-district enrollment or in-district limited choice by the dates specified on the district website's Enrollment page.

What are your standard school day hours?
Our middle school hours are Monday-Friday, 9:20 am-4:20 pm. For families with students in different academic levels, our high school hours are 8:30 am-3:30 pm and our elementary school hours are 7:50 am-2:35 pm.
