Begins: Wednesday, October 24th

(Monday (10/22) is a BLUE DAY, Tuesday (10/23) is a GOLD DAY)

Starting on Wednesday, October 24th Eastwood will pilot a new daily schedule referred to as a Drop 2 starting October 24 through November 15.  We have spent a great deal of time teaching our students how the schedule works during Advisory in the past weeks to help prepare them for this shift.  We plan to survey you as well as our staff and students at the end of the pilot in order to determine if this is a change we consider implementing for the 2019-2020 school year.

Drop 2 Schedule Breakdown
The Drop 2 schedule allows for students to attend more of their classes daily for a lesser period of time than our current block schedule. Your child will attend 6 of 8 periods per day approximately 55 minutes each in addition to a 25-minute Advisory period.  Your child will attend all 8 periods 3 out of every 4 days and will follow a 4-day rotation.  Currently, they follow an Eagle, Blue, Gold, Blue, Gold schedule rotation.  During the pilot students will follow a Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 rotation before repeating.  We are interested in determining if this change benefits student engagement and learning at Eastwood as well as better assists students with transition from elementary and to high school.
